When Jack Russell (Werewolf By Night) was first captured by Calliope's Carnival and Circus, Big Elmo was one of the circus performers who helped Swami Rihva to capture and control him. But when it came time for the Swami to plunge a dagger into to the Werewolf's heart into order to perform a ritual, Big Elmo refused to take part in a murder. He turned against his fellow Carnival members and defended the Werewolf with his very life.
