Kaman-Ru was a powerful wizard who lived many centuries ago. He created a mystical object known as the "Bloodstone" (sometimes spelled "Blood Stone"), which served as a map to his treasure.
Kaman-Ru died long ago, but the Bloodstone was obtained in modern times by Nepalese-born mystic Swami Rihva.
At one time, Jack Russell (a.k.a. Werewolf By Night) was captured by Swami Rihva and Calliope's Carnival and Circus. The Swami used the Bloodstone to control the Werewolf for a time, but Jack managed to escape.
