Mack and his wife had a daughter named Maura. While Maura was still an infant, Mack's wife left him for another man, a dangerous man named Morrison.
Mack's wife was not content to leave it at that, though. She wanted her daughter, Maura, to be with her. Mack feared that his estranged wife and Morrison would be abusive parents. He fled the area with his daughter, taking her to a remote cabin in the woods of Northern California.
Morrison followed, dangerously intent on taking Maura from Mack, even if it meant killing Mack.
Jack Russell, as the "Werewolf By Night", became an unexpected "guardian angel" for Mack and Maura, defending them from Morrison.
