A two-paragraph article about super-heroine "Black Cherry X" was created on the Wikipedia website on 14 November 2005. This article was eventually deleted and a legitimate question may be posed regarding whether this is an actual character or not.
Although the Wikipedia article (which was subsequently copied to other websites) refers to a character created by writer Edward Duffy and artist Sophie Sweenie in 1985, no references to this character or this collaboration can be found on other standard reference sources which catalog comic book stories. Even the identification of Edward Duffy as a writer working for the British comic magazine 2000 AD seems suspect. Various resource databases do not list anybody by this name as a 2000 AD writer.
The complete text of this Wikipedia page is as follows:
Black Cherry X was a comic character created in 1985 by Edward Duffy while he was still working for the comic magazine 2000 AD. The limited series was a success but was discontinued after a dispute between Edward Duffy and the artist Sophie Sweenie. The pair collaborated again on other projects (Uni Life being the most successful).
The character's real name was Sam Wallis. Black Cherry X was an omnimorph, which essential means that she was able to change not only shape but also mass as well (as shown by a transfiguration into a cheesecake). It is not known if the shape she usually used was her original shape or if she had something to hide, as the series suggested.
