On page 15, Donna asked Lori Grimes to entertain her and the other women doing laundry down a the river by telling the them about how she met her husband, Rick Grimes. Lori told Donna that it was a somewhat boring story, but Donna persisted, so Lori acquiesced.
Lori recounted: "Rick's brother Jeff is my age. I'm two years younger than Rick. I met his brother senior year of high school."
Donna interrupted, saying: "It started with the brother? I'm all ears."
Lori continued: "It's nothing like that . . . We were friends. Jeff invited me to a New Year's party. Apparently Rick had been made chaperone by their parents, who were attending a party elsewhere. I met Rick there. He was going to college for police administration... Everything about him was interesting..."
Lori told the other women a little bit more about how she first met Rick and how they eventually got married, but neither Rick's brother Jeff nor Rick's parents are mentioned again in her story.
