Without being identified by name, Larry Trask's mother (with wife of Bolivar Trask) was first mentioned in X-Men (vol. 1) #58 (July 1969). In this story, the late Bolivar Trask's son Larry told Judge Robert Chalmers, a long-time friend of both Bolivar and Larry, about the medallion he wears around his neck.
Larry explained that the medallion had belonged to his mother. After Larry's mother died, Larry's father (Bolivar) gave it to wear and told him to wear it at all times. Bolivar Trask made young Larry swear to never take it off.
Many years later, Larry Trask's mother was introduced as a character in the X-Men: Forever series. Her history was retconned, such that she had not died, but in fact lived long after her husband Bolivar died.
