Heroic sailing ship captain Captain Grim encountered a dismasted sailing ship. The ship's crew was missing, all except one wounded sailor. The wounded sailor told him that the rest of his crew disappeared on the (appropriately named) Island of Missing Men. The wounded sailor went on to tell Captain Grim that while on the island he witnessed a gigantic gray bird with frighteningly sharp talons.

The wounded sailor also told Captain Grim that one sailor from his crew was found dead. But when the crew examined the dead sailor, they could find no visible marks. The crewman's cause of death was a mystery!
