Dave Landers ("Mastodon" of D.P.7) had a nosy neighbor in the trailer park where he lived. After Dave and his fellow D.P.7 therapy group member fled the Clinic, Dave went to his trailer park home, hitched it up to his pick-up, and drove away. Dave did this to obtain transportation (and a temporary home) for the D.P.7 refugees. Dave's nosy neighbor watched suspiciously as he drove away from the trailer park.
The neighbor may have seen or heard some of the confrontation between D.P.7 and the headhunters sent by the Clinic to apprehend them. This neighbor definitely saw Dave Landers and some of his friends (unfamiliar to the neighbor) pull out of the trailer park at 3:00 A.M. in the morning. The neighbor called the police. Later, when police arrived to investigate, the three headhunters ambushed them, stealing their squad car and uniforms. The headhunters, disguised as police, again tried to attack and capture the D.P.7 paranormals.
