Mary Perzentka worked as a barmaid in a biker bar. She had a brief romance with "Scuzz," one of the paranormals from the group known as "D.P.7". After a few weeks of friendship and becoming closer, they finally tried to kiss each other. But Scuzz's paranormal power (which includes the production of a caustic acid in his saliva) burned her mouth. Mary shouted that Scuzz is poison, and he left, realizing that his power meant he would not be able to be close to any woman.
