An unnamed carnival worker tried to stop Magneto from talking to the Blob. Magneto was trying to recruit the rotund mutant into his Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Magneto had his Brotherhood with him. Magneto ordered his mutant followers in the Brotherhood to attack the other carnival workers. The carnies were quickly scared away. The manager was unable to do anything to stop Magneto from talking to the Blob.
Magneto manipulates the Blob into helping him attack the X-Men. But eventually he feels like he is a pawn in their conflict and he wearies of being involved with them. The X-Men offer the Blob a place with their team, but the Blob returned to the carnival instead.
