During a time that the X-Men was disbanded (at the request of the FBI), Scott Summers took a job as a radio personality and roving radio reporter. Meeting up with his girlfriend Jean Grey, Scott took her to the radio station he was working fore. At the station, Scott explained some of the advantages of having such a job, such as how the job is useful for being able to go undercover. Scott, a very serious person, was thinking about how the job was useful in continuing his role as a hero.

Jean pointed out another advantage, less serious in nature. She said that he could stay abreast of all the latest pop recordings. As she said this, she was looking at an LP, and said: "And you get your hands on the very latest pop recording, like this new group--the Chocolate Covered Ashcan."
