In Uncanny X-Men (vol. 1) #430, the mutant Xavier Institute student known as Squid-Boy is shown leaving his family home in Vancouver while his parents argue. They are arguing about their son, Sammy (Squid-Boy). His abusive father says pointedly mean things to his wife. The father's rant includes suggestions that he is not actually Sammy's biological father. At one point Sammy's father suggests that Sammy is actually the child of somebody Sammy's mother had an affair with. Sammy's father names "Will," a man who was once a co-worker of Sammy's mother. Sammy's mother is adamant that there is no truth to this accusation.
Will is never actually seen in this story. He is only mentioned.
