An unnamed monk at the monastery named "Rest Haven" provided refuge to the crook Eel O'Brian, who was fleeing police. O'Brian was desperate and had been severely injured when acid fell on his head. The monk turned away the police who were trailing O'Brian. The kind monk nursed O'Brian back to health. The monk's kindness and good example helped inspire O'Brian to abandon his criminal ways and become a crimefighter.
