Mycroft operated out of the Tower of Terror on Loch Ness, in Scotland. He posed as a psychic detective, but there is no indication that he actually had psychic powers. Mycroft's blind ward Rachel, however, possessed genuine psychic abilities and could communicate with the dead.
The Mycroft character was based on actor Peter Cushing.
