Allan, the 'Iron Man', was a knight and a great swordsman who fought in the Fourth Crusade (1202-1204) and became a Knight Templar before returning to Europe and fighting evil there. He had no superpowers but had and used full plate armor and a huge sword.
Allan de Beaufort appeared in New Comics #1, the first issue of the series which would become DC Comics' long-running series Adventure Comics. Most of the numerous shot features in this issue were either the beginning of an ongoing feature which appeared in multiple subsequent issues, or they were clearly intended as one-time-only strips. But a few features appeared as if they would be ongoing, repeated strips with recurring characters, but ended up appearing only once in this series. The strip "Allan de Beaufort" fell into this category. "Allan de Beaufort" was a feature that appeared only once in New Comics. Allan de Beaufort appeared in only one subsequent comic - in 1945.
