Black Canary catches the eye of TV writer Harlequin Ellis, "the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood," but Green Arrow scares him off. Crushed to the point of despair, the smitten writer enigmatically develops the ability to weave reality from his dreams, and in separate interludes "becomes" Superman and Batman, using them to court Black Canary.
