In the year 2020, Wellington Marcus's evil plan to use a computer virus to cripple all technology on the planet was not borne from some type of anti-technology Luddite ideal. Marcus simply wanted to make himself vastly wealthy and powerful. He had a cure for the computer virus he planned to release. It was his intention to use his position as the supplier of the cure to enrich himself.
Marcus's scheme was defeated by the Iron Man of the year 2020 (Arno Stark).
