This film is also known as: Die Hard 2: Die Harder.
The feature film Die Hard 2 is an adaptation of the plot of the novel 58 Minutes, written by Walter Wager. The protagonist in 58 Minutes is NYPD officer Captain Frank Malone. But the main character in Die Hard 2 is John McClane, the protagonist of Die Hard, which was an adaptation of Roderick Thorp's novel Nothing Lasts Forever, about Detective Joe Leland. Although authors Roderick Thorp and Walter Wager created different characters in different novel franchises, the "Die Hard" movies sort of combine their characters.
