This comic was reprinted from: Blue Beetle (vol. 1) #40 (Winter 1945): "The Masks of Mystery".
Charlton, having acquired the Blue Beetle character from Fox Feature Syndicate, published four issues of a Blue Beetle series in 1955. Mostly the series featured reprints from the original Fox series.
For some unknown reason, Charlton did not begin the numbering of these issues with #1, but rather began with #18, continuing the numbering from an unrelated series titled The Thing. After four issues (#s 18, 19, 20 and 21), the "series" continued with issue #22 (again switching to an unrelated character) as Mr. Muscles.
