This is the earliest known printed version of the nursery rhyme "This Old Man" which is essentially in the modern form known today.
The rhyme is known to predate this publication by many decades. In the Journal of the English Folk Dance and Song Society, Anne Gilchrist describes a somewhat version of the nursery rhyme which she learned from her Welsh nurse in the 1870s.
