This film is also known as: Mou gaan dou or The Unceasing Path. The literal translation of the original Chinese title of this film is "The Unceasing Path," which is a reference to Avici, the lowest level of hell in Buddhism.
In 2003, this film was followed up by a prequel, Infernal Affairs II, and a sequel, Infernal Affairs III.
