Many reporters at press conference when Dr. Sanders explained the surgery she was about to perform on the U.S. President and in front of hospital when Ellen went to perform the scheduled surgery.

Featured prominently in early scene in this episode, in which the local police and FBI together handle a bank robbery in which the bank robbers have taken hostages.

The scene in locker room after lacrosse practice takes place in the high school Jake and Morgan Sanders attend. The players are all students at the high school.

Nico is not seen in this episode, but Jake listens to a voice mail message from Nico in which Nico tells him he wants his money ($1200). Jake then calls Kevin, tells him Nico called.

This doctor is not seen mentioned explicitly, but has offered experimental therapy which may save Nina Carlisle, which is motivation for her husband Duncan to plan assassination of President.

Duncan Carlisle: "I packed you a bunch of nice dresses."
Sawyer Carlisle: "I don't want those. I want my Hello Kitty dress."

security company dispatcher: "May I have your password, please."
Dr. Ellen Sanders: "Uh, uh, the password is Ringo Starr."
dispatcher: "Thank you. We have a patrol car in your neighborhood, Mrs. Sanders. He'll stop by to check on you."

First Lady Mary Kincaid: "There's a website where you can input your age, weight, and type of surgery you're having, and it will calculate the risks."
President Paul Kincaid: "And there's a website where you can watch cockroaches dance. But that doesn't mean it's a good use of your time."

Dr.Ellen Sanders: "My department chief is resentful. He thinks the White House only chose me because I'm a woman."
Dr. Sanders' co-worker: "Your department chief has sewn more sponges into his patients than stitches. He's a bureaucrat. You are a rock star."

Morgan Sanders takes a pregnancy test and learns she is pregnant with boyfriend Burke Boyd's baby.

Duncan Carlisle (to Dr. Ellen Sanders): "You call your mother every Thursday, the same day Jake has tae kwon do."

Pres. Paul Kincaid: "I'm gonna be fine. It's a routine surgery and she's the top surgeon in the hospital."
Mary Kincaid: "I'm worried Quentin is going to pull an Al Haig while you're under and declare martial law."
Pres. Kincaid: "Well, that thought alone will give me the strength to pull through."
The First Lady here refers to Quentin Creasy, Chief of Staff to her husband, Pres. Paul Kincaid, and Al Haig, who was Chief of Staff under under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford.

Mary Kincaid: "You don't have to go through with it, Paul. You can still get the Chief Surgeon at Johns Hopkins."
