James Bosley's play Fun was written in 1985 and first performed as a stage reading as part of the National Playwrights Conference held at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. The first full-scale public production of the play was in 1988 at the MCC Theater in New York City, directed by Brian Mertes.
