The "alien religions (Earthlings)" category is used for characters who are Earthlings but adhere to a religion which is extraterrestrial in origin. This includes Earthlings who are converts to an alien religion or culture, as well as characters who worship an alien being, even if they do so as part of a religious group that exists only on Earth. This category intentionally refers to "Earthlings" and not "humans" because many aliens are clearly human. This category is, of course, restricted to Earth humans. A Skrull alien, for example, who is born and raised on Earth but worships in the Skrull religion, would not be listed here, even if (technically speaking) the Skrull might be categorized as an "Earthling." Likewise, the Kryptonian Superman is not listed here, despite the fact that he was raised on Earth and occasionally has been portrayed as an adherent of traditional Kryptonian religion. Superman is, instead, listed in the "alien religions" section for his Kryptonian worship and "Methodist" for his Earth-based religious affiliation.
